What is the difference between #SeriousGames, #Gamification, and Entertainment Games? How are they used to change behavior? We take a look at the different types of #GameDesign methods used for solving real-world problems with games.
Wanna Splice some DNA? Try this Game
The past few months I have been working on a new video blog called GMVR. It's a gaming channel that's not trying to redefine anything, just have fun with my depressed friend on Mondays. The worst days ever, now get a little better. So here we are playing Nanocrafter.org. It's a free to play puzzle game that teaches a better understanding about Convalescent Strands of DNA, Genetics and more. I'm still not sure what we were doing though. But it was fun! Have a try yourself and see how far you can get.
Monopoly was Invented to Combat Greed
Did you know that the favorite board game of many around the world, was invented by a Lizzie Magie in 1904 to combat greed. Watch the video to find out more about this revolutionary game designer. I am reminded of a quote from Gerorg Zoche and his reflection on the game. Georg said, "Every Monopoly game eventually ends in an economic crash. One person has all the money, making it worthless to everyone."
Serious game design is changing how we solve problems. These games are fun but also teach important lessons. Our masterclass will show you how to make these games and use them to tackle real-world issues.
